Hi. A friend of mine has an old iBook G4 (more than 4 year old) that seems to have a graphics card problem. He had this problem a year ago as well, but then he surfed for a solution to it and according to some forum he opened his iBook and stuffed a cardboard on top of his graphics card to pack it on the logic board. That worked for him. But now since last week whenever he starts up his computer it shows him different colors like red, blue, green, etc. full screen. Sometimes the comp startsup well but freezes at the login screen when it asks him for password.
I tried resetting PRAM, PMU. His OS DVDs are back home at London. Please suggest what should i do further? How much will a new graphics card cost? Or is it something more than a graphics card? Thanks.
