They have announce a tablet called Blackpad... And its supposed to run QNX OS 
.... nd not rim's proprietory os

Blackberry is one of the best operating systems. The syncing with address book 
works fine too. You should have no issues. Though the software of the mac 
version is not as good as the windows one but it does what's needed. 

Bb is losing market share for not get devices upto the mark but I always prefer 
the speed of the operating system and the ease of use of all the shortcuts.

Have a look at Samsung Galaxy S. Thou promoted as a GSM phone primarily, It has 
a setting to use as a GSM / WCDMA / AUTO, so the advantage is that if the 
number portability comes thro you can have your GSM number too n use Galaxy S 
while you use Reliance till then :)

Anyways your better half is gonna be happy with your generosity n you with the 
new Android.
