That seems quite sufficient. I’d suggest against trying to go back to Lion (10.7) and stick to Mountain Lion (10.8) which is more stable in my opinion. One thing I would do is, create a new user account on the mac and login with it after rebooting. If you have a lot of apps that you use already, they create a lot of crap in the library folder and creating the new user creates a new set of these files. So if you upgraded from a previous version and some of those files were creating conflicts, this would eliminate that. See if you experience any difference running your apps one by one in the new user account. Also, 4 GB of ram is enough for day to day use but not optimum for using apps like Photoshop or FCP. I use Apple Aperture for photo management and editing on my MBP which also has 4 GB ram and it runs terribly. The only way to handle that is to make sure to quit other apps like mail, safari, iTunes that I usually have open before running Aperture. That improves the performance quite a bit. If doing that helps you, either keep doing that, or upgrade your ram to 8 GB. Also worth noting is if you’ve used those apps from long ago and haven’t connected to the internet in a while, they might be old versions. Try to find a good internet connection and update all your apps to the latest versions. Many times, that solves a lot of performance-related issues.
Hope that helps. On 08-Mar-2013, at 1:00 PM, Ambuj K Soni <ambujks...@gmail.com> wrote: > thanks for the query.
