Dear John, Nice comparison of the machines for analysis. The MBA (Macbook Air) can be upgraded to 8GB RAM (it is on website, in US, customisable to 8GB RAM). HDMI and extra thunderbolt port, I am not sure as a orthopedic surgeon/doctor we ever use it. Weight and battery life is an issue.
In about 48 hours or so, prices are increasing about 15-20% or so and in addition I have been told that student pricing is being withdrawn. I am using 18 month old MBA with 4 Gb RAM and 128GB SSD, except for the storage capacity, I have never faced any issues regarding speed etc. Display is also very good, better than any SONY or similar laptops. Price is also an issue, MBP with retina(8GB) 128GB is 99000.00 and 256 is 115000/- MBA 4GB with 256 GB is 89000/- (Upgrade to 8Gb is another 6000/-) Opinion and comments!!
