They were sections put aside for the FA and Premoier League who didnt fill them. same as teh directors box at OT every week. They tried giving them to charities but had left it too late and couldnt shift them.
As for the turkeys voting for xmas, it is not the same. There will always be a neutral section at the cup final and always enough for all the FA staff etc. It is the fact that tickets systemtically go to every grass roots organisation, local associations etc. I wouldnt be so bitter about it if they didnt all end up on the black market or even if they went to charities. surely a neutral landing one withotu any good reason is not as deserving as a Utd season ticket/LMTB holder?! If we keep up pressure it might lead to a small change, perhaps 18,000 neutrals instead of 20,000 last year. At least it would be a shift in the right direction. Cannot imagine Arsenal are do anything abotu it either, they have the least active supporters imaginable. It was the middle block in the mainstand on the front of the tier - it sat empty throughout. Seems even the liggers were loathe to a Cardiff 2 o'clock !! Rich -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Oli Winton Sent: 18 April 2005 15:06 To: [email protected]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [imusa] FA cup final allocations Last year there was an unprecedented step by the FA to give (slightly) fewer tickets to neutrals and more to each club. We now have a new head of the FA in a position to continue this shift back towards the supporters and show that he actually cares. We all know that neutral tickets all end up in the hands of the supporters anyway, just at inflated prices. And it is easy to understand how someone opportunistically agrees to a ticket they are offered and is later tempted by hundreds of pounds waved in front ofd their face. The FA have to realise that it is far more sensible to let the club's decide who goes, rather than it being determined by which not necessarily loyal fans can afford to buy from a tout. I am sure a few polite letters to the FA would not do any harm in the next week whilst they decide the allocations. Cheers Oli Please use [email protected] for general discussion.
