Today's recipe submitted by Cynthia...
Ultimate Pot Roast
1 (3-1/2 pound) boneless beef rump roast
1 medium onion (sliced thin)
7 medium white potatoes (peeled and quartered)
1-1/2 cups small carrots
3 cups water
salt
pepper
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 Tbls. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large pot over medium-
high heat, brown roast on all sides; seasoning with salt and
pepper when turning. After all sides are browned, sprinkle
with garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Add
onions to pan and cook for 2 minutes. Pour water over roast
and remove from heat. Cover; place in oven for 1/2 hour; reduce
heat to 325 degrees and continue baking for additional hour.
Remove from oven, add carrots, potatoes and more water if
necessary. Place covered pot back in oven and bake an additional
2 hours or until roast is tender and vegetables are done.
