Yeah, power saving will be a long way of opensolaris, not specific on
indiana only.
Currently, cpu power mangement option is not enabled by default.
If you are aware speedstep is supported on your laptop, you could
enable it(dtpower(1M)).
It can definitely make your battery life longer.
