Agreed. Besides, having to fit everything on a single CD is a great way to get into the distro mindset, and that's the main reason I'm pushing for it, personally speaking. It forces us to refactor into core and add-ons, and that is arguably the big shift in Indiana, i.e., toward the "collection of software" approach and away from the big monolithic wad of stuff. Don't forget, we can always do DVDs later by bundling the CD core with certain add-ons--"developer edition" is probably the core with all the developer tools, for instance, and could be bundled on a DVD or installed as add-ons to the CD core. Having the CD core gives us enormous flexibility--and is the baseline for compatibility across different editions. -ian -- Ian Murdock 650-331-9324 http://ianmurdock.com/ "Don't look back--something might be gaining on you." --Satchel Paige _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss
