Hi Dave, Thanks for reading my grumbling verbiage. I understand they don't help at all, but someone has to raise a point. However, I do sense an urgency here. The first thing I have to ask is, if I do decide to go through the whole process, i.e., collecting the necessary endorsements from the "International community" leaders and what not, how much time do I have before a decision on the final makeup of the 2008.11 LiveCD will be made? IOW, I don't have the stomach to play the OGB game--going through a tedious but perfectly laid out process and yet nothing gets done at the end. Again, this is an urgent matter. I am not endorsing SCIM as Yong pointed out, but anything is better than IIIMF (and please keep it in the right perspective that I am only talking about the Chinese locale). A while ago, Sun's CEO Mr. Schwartz made a comment as to why there were so few OpenSolaris downloads from China. The reality is, I have traveled quite extensively in the greater China area (China, Taiwan and HK), and I have yet to find a single person who is using OpenSolaris. I am sure you can find a handful of Sun employees and perhaps some students and school teachers during Sun-sponsored seminars and workshops. But that's not enough. Something more fundamental needs to be do, and the first thing we can do is, give us/them a good keyboard. As I am very excited that we, the community, finally have something to offer. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss
