Hello all
I think there is a tremenduous need for over all reveiwing of our rich
floristic diversity. and with the use of new technology we can sudy it
well and also project it and retrieve it in a better way.
as Garg ji has already stated all the aspects of plant should be
photographed so as to get detail information of it and in the course a
database is created. i would like to inform that it is called
Eelectronic herbarium, wherein plant habit, bark, twig, twig,
leaves ,inflorescnce, flower, fruit seeds along with other diagnosting
character are photographed and linked with the description of plant
which can be retrieved instantly. my research on plants of Mumbai was
based on preparation of Electronic herbarium and digital database of
Mumbai which resulted in development of such e-herbarium of 1252
plants of the region.
i request all the members to click as many as photographs of the plant
and its habitat, so as to get more and more information of the plant
and its habitat.

thanks and regards
Satish Pardeshi
