Thanks Dr.Radha. Came to know about the book [and my great grand-uncle being a botanist] only in May this year when I visited Dr.Almeida at Sawantwadi. He has a copy of the book which unfortunately I did not get to peruse and anyway it is in Portuguese. However, he did inform me that there is an English translation of the book which can be downloaded from the net [which I also have not been able to do yet]. With regards, Neil Soares.

I had kept this plant as H. grande up until now. Then after comparing the various close species I became quite confused - counting the rays, comparing the leaves and the stated heights for the plants. The other factor I considered is the reported flowering time. H. grande is usually stated as flowering in July- Aug whereas the other one is September. I noticed that the plants I photographed the other day were only just beginning to come into bloom. Do you have a copy of your great uncle's book? I would be interested to see it. regards Radha On 23 August 2013 22:46, Neil Soares <[email protected]> wrote: Hi, > Agree with Dinesh.
