Dear Dr. Phadke,

The ficus tree was the only one we sighted at Hulekal.
We saw six hornbill family groups in the locality - While some of them
flew  over the tree canopies with distinctive loud calls few of them
were  feeding silently on the riped fruits. (The largest flock which flew from
a tree to another had nine of them.)
I believe the hornbill population itself is an indicator of a good number of
such fruiting trees in the sorroundings. Hornbills help in seed dispersal too.

Regards
Raghu

very nice picture Raghu ji with apt description of the characters.
Picture after long time. Was there any other similar tree in the vicinity?
Would like to know the abundance of the species.
