thanks for the response.

the grey fruit is grey from the time a flower is turning to fruit, right
from the fruits juvenile form. it continues grey throughout, and when it
dehisces.

i can only describe the ovary of the flower - it is greyish white pubescent.

i have some pics, but unfortunately the gmail is refusing to attach these
to the email.
