"This is *Rosa* *multiflora* Thunb.; occasional in hedges and abandoned
coffee plantation in Karnataka.

According to Flora of Karnataka there are two cultivated and one wild
species of Rosa in Karnataka State:
*Rosa* *clinophylla* Redout‚ & Thory (= *R. **involucrata* Roxb. ex Lindl.)
reported from Mysore, (Cultivated)
*Rosa* *leschenaultiana* (Redout‚ & Thory) Wight & Arn. commonly found wild
in Nilgiri and Palni Hills also reported from Karnataka and
*Rosa* *multiflora* Thunb. (Cultivated)
