Many many thanks to Varun ji for elaborating on the distribution of wild
and cultivated species of *Rosa* in and around coffee plantations of
Karnataka. (By any chance, do we get to know Varun ji's surname ? Is it
Sharma ? May be his email ID carries his surname).

I have corrected my notes at my flickr photostream.

I had earlier labelled the posted plant as *R. leschenaultiana*, as it
fitted the illustration in Dr T Ananda Rao's Wild Flowers of Coorg
published by Coorg Wildlife Society.on pages 34 and 35.

Tabish pointed out the misidentification when one of our friends Siddarth
Machado contributed the correct *R. leschenaultiana *to FOI site*.*
