Many many thanks to Varun ji for elaborating on the distribution of wild and cultivated species of *Rosa* in and around coffee plantations of Karnataka. (By any chance, do we get to know Varun ji's surname ? Is it Sharma ? May be his email ID carries his surname).
I have corrected my notes at my flickr photostream. I had earlier labelled the posted plant as *R. leschenaultiana*, as it fitted the illustration in Dr T Ananda Rao's Wild Flowers of Coorg published by Coorg Wildlife Society.on pages 34 and 35.
