An erect almost evergreen tree, 20-30 m tall; bark blackish, fissured. Leaves 
digitate, petioles 5-8 cm, leaflets 5-7, elliptic, 15-20 cm, shining green. 
Flowers 8-10 cm, pinkish mauve with yellow throat, largest of the genus. 
Blooming in 2-3 flushes in a year but never abundent and contemporary with 
other Tabebuias. Some likely names are Bignonia rio-grande, B. megapotamica. 3 
trees seen at Balgandharva Rangmandir Pune.
