Dear friends, ... *plebejum* seems to be a proper epithet. It is found in quite a few scientific names. I assume *Polygonum plebeium* R.Br. and *Polygonum plebejum* R.Br. are synonymous ... not sure whether there is any mistake in doing so. Is one of them in Greek and other in Latin ? They both mean same ... "common", and are even pronounced the same plebeium <https://davesgarden.com/guides/botanary/search.php?search_text=plebeium> / plebejum <https://davesgarden.com/guides/botanary/search.php?search_text=plebejum>. Please throw some light on this close names.
