Dear friends, ... at another forum, my friends have genuine doubts about
this plant being *I. tinctoria*.
Their thoughts: *I. tinctoria* is a small shrub, similar to *I. suffruticosa
* (in fact, they think both are synonymous).

To me it looks like *I. tinctoria* (and dear Tabish too thinks similarly)
... yet would like you to take a re-look and validate the ID.

Based my ID by referring these two links:
1) ... The Indigo page ... http://www.indigopage.com/herbal/indigofera.htm
2) ... IMPGC ...
http://www.impgc.com/plantinfo_A.php?id=273&bc=Raw%20Herbs%20%BB%20Leaves

Facts:
Found the plant growing on hill slope, enroute Kas plateau in the ghat
region.
Best remembering it to be about 4 - 5 ft in height and about as much wide.

Requesting you to refer the photographs for inferring ID.

Regards.
