Yes, If those are strong spines, then it could be Bambusa bambos. But need to be confirmed whether they are growing buds or strong spines. But I couldn't find any auricles on the smaller culm sheaths at the axils. But one needs to check the culm sheaths on the main culm. If Dr.Satish could recall whether it was thorny or not. Another aspect is the glaucous nature of young shoot (bluish powder) which is usually found in Dendrocalamus, but there could be variations as well.
