Cassia fistula. In Kerala on the Vishu day (New Year) the flower is kept near Lord Guruvayurappan's photo. Early morning on the New year day all the children are taken blindfolded near the photo and the first thing they see is the flower, fruits, Gold, light, mirror and Lord Guruvayurappan.
