Yes Sundaraman ji  it is a fruit of Sterculia foetida. the fruit
(called follicle) are in a group of five on a peduncle, and each with
each 8-12 oblong seeds.
the seeds are edible  either raw as well as roasted. it is known as
Jungli Badam. the other common names being  Bastard tree, Poon tree,
Goldaru.
