I must mention that I have been observing 6 trees of Putranjiva roxburgii in different areas of Chennai and have seen the "olives" only on one tree in another park (May Day park) which has been closed to the public, prior to construction of a Metro station. I have not been able to see the flowers at all though obviously that one tree has borne flowers. Is our climate here not conducive to flowering, I wonder. However the trees look healthy enough.
