Hallo all,
I was to come to India last winter, but had to change my plans. I shall
be coming to india for 4 to 6 weeks sometime bet. mid. Nov. 2011 and
mid Jan. 2012.
From 13. Dec. till 27. Dec. I have to be in Pune.
As I have not visited the northeast (seven sisters) and northwest
(Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhanda, Kashmir, Panjab), and Andaman and
Nicobar, I would like to do a short visit either to NE or NW or to the
Islands. Friends of ours who visited NE last year, told us that the
infrastructure is not optimum and one spends a lot of time in travelling
from a to b and dosen't see much. NW, I think has better facilities.
Also Andaman and Nocobars, I suppose. From the various posts I read
here, I think, many members have travelled to these parts. So I am
asking your opinion and advice.
My questions are:
Is travelling in NW a bit easier that in NE? How secure it is.
Certainly I am interested in the flora of the region, but would also
like to visit places of tourists interest. I shall be going there for
the first time.
Is someone arranging flora watching trip to NE or NW during the time,
when I am in india.
I also wish to do a flower-watching session in and around Pune. Is
anyone interested to guide and join me. It will be a good opportunity
to get to know people in this group with whom I am exchanging various
informations.
What are other suggestions from you?
As you have better knowledge of the transpost facilities it would be a
great help to me, if you guide me in planning my route, suggesting
places to stay, etc. etc.
I havn't fixed the dates yet. I also don't know yet, if my husband will
come to India with me.
Hoping to get your answers in the next few days so that I can plan
accordingly.
You may also write to me on my mail-ID [email protected]
