Gucharan ji ,
Yes, this Ipomoea quamoclit was successfully crossed with Ipomoea coccinea to produce the new species of Ipomoea sloteri scroll down the page to see my comment http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/662/ Ipomoea quamoclit has a 2n=30 and Ipomoea coccinea has a 2n=28 and although the initial filial generations had unstable and varying chromosome counts , some of the offspring eventually stabilized as an auto-tetraploid Ipomoea sloteri (created under laboratory conditions) is one of the extremely rare true inter-specific hybrids within the Ipomoea genus. Hope that is helpful (even if indirectly)... regards, Ron .
