Dear Ron Thanks for this information about Ipomoea stoleri. By the way since it is a hybrid between two species and subsequent duplication of chromosomes, it would be an allotetraploid or amphiploid. This phenomenon is common in genera Tragopogon and Senecio of Asteraceae. In fact I had described one such species Tragopogon kashmirianus G. Singh in 1976, substantiated by molecular studies in recent years.
