Many thanks Satish ji for clarifying the differences among *P. chinensis*and
*P. nepalensis*.
Another species close to *P. chinensis* is *P. dichotoma* (which has
grooved stem, and minute prickles, the inflorescence as the name suggests
is branching, the flower clusters relatively far-spaced).

Present status at The Plants
List<http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/tro-50253724>,
*Persicaria auriculata* S.K. Dixit et al. is a synonym of *Polygonum
praetermissum* Hook. f. ...
And *Persicaria chinensis* (L.) H. Gross is separately treated ... The
Plants List <http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/tro-50133756>.

Regards.
Dinesh
