The character that you are copying over here is unicode character U09F0 to represent the character 'Ra' used in the Assamese script. When a user will type this character in using the keymap proposed by you, it will be stored in a format that the digital writing system will recognise as 'Ra'. So if someone tries to type your name (or identity as I gathered from the email id you are using) 'Dinbandhu' with your keymap, they will end up typing it as 'Dinrandhu'. And so on for every word with the make belief 'ba'. 'Antastya ba'[1][2] does not have any representation in the Unicode charts (because its use was discontinued ages ago and your scanned page also mentions the same), so even if you think you are mapping the ৰ glyph to an Antastya ba and not to the Assamese Ra, there isnt any code point on the Bengali script chart that it can be mapped to. So it'll either end up being mapped to a very wrong character or to vacuum. If you still insist on doing so and have enough vetted evidence admissible by Unicode to back up your claims, you can take it to Unicode (through the appropriate channels) and have them add a code point for 'Antastya ba' in the Bengali code chart so that it is correctly mapped. Please understand that without adequate validation, what you are proposing will amount to immense amount of data loss in both Bengali and Assamese content, and break enough i18n standards for the implementation of keymaps for which a lot of us on this list have had to work hard for more than a decade. Your intentions are laudable but considering your arguments on this matter so far, I am hard pressed to believe that your comprehension of Bengali or Unicode is adequate to defend your stand. regards Runa [1] Please do not misrepresent this as 'ba'. There were historically two types of 'ba' in Bengali (both represented with the same glyph): borgiyo ba i.e. similar in pronunciation to the hindi ब and antastya ba i.e. similar in pronunciation to the hindi व .
