It
is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Control Systems
Chapter,
IEEE Singapore Section.

2009
was a fruitful year for the Chapter
under the leadership of past Chairman, Prof Wang Jianliang. In
particular, the
Chapter successfully co-organized the 7th IEEE International Conference
on
Control and Automation in Christchurch, New Zealand from 9 December 2009
through 11 December 2009 with the IEEE New Zealand South Section. We
have
received over 630 submissions from about 40 countries and regions. Each
full
paper has gone through peer reviews to ensure the quality of accepted
papers. A
total of 414 papers were selected for presentation at the conference.

In
2010, the chapter is organizing the 8th
IEEE International Conference on Control and Automation (co-organized
with the
IEEE Control Systems Chapter, Guangzhou, China), to be held from June 9
to 11, 2010,
in Asia Gulf Hotel, Xiamen, China. The conference has continued to enjoy
overwhelming response from the researchers all over the world. We have
received
over 800 submissions
from about 35 countries and regions.

Besides
this major event of the chapter, we
shall continue to be active in organizing various other activities. The
Chapter
will organize the 6th IEEE Singapore Control Systems Chapter Graduate
Student
Workshop on Control and Automation in September 2010. We shall continue
to
invite IEEE Distinguished Lecturers to give lectures, and to invite
internationally renowned researchers and professors to conduct technical
seminars. All IEEE Distinguished Lectures and technical seminars are
free of
charge and open to public. We have also planned a number of social
gatherings
for all chapter members and their families.

The
Chapter will continue to support the
activities organized by the IEEE Student Branch, Singapore. IEEE Control
Systems
Chapter Book Prize will be awarded annually to the final year students
in both
the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), National
University of Singapore (NUS), and the School of Electrical
and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Nanyang Technological University
(NTU), for
the best final projects.

The
chapter will continue to collaborate
with research institutes in Singapore,
such as Data Storage Institute (DSI), Singapore Institute of
Manufacturing
Technology (SIMTech) and Institute
 of Info-comm
Research
(I2R). The Chapter will also organize some activities jointly with other
 IEEE
chapters in Singapore.

All of
these activities are of much
interest and benefits to all IEEE CSS members, members of other IEEE
societies.
Some of the activities will also be open to non-members as well. For
details of
those activities, please browse through this website for more
information.
Announcements for planned activities will be sent to all IEEE Singapore
Control
Systems Chapter members by e-mail.

On
behalf of the IEEE Singapore Control
Systems Chapter Committee, I would like to express my sincere
appreciation to
all chapter members for their trust, support and participation. With the
 supports
from all of you, Year 2010 will be another successful year for the
Chapter.
