Since neither of the above use cases care about the contents of the strings, just the order in which they arrive, both would be perfectly reasonable InfluxDB use cases. To address these use cases we only have to store the chat lines as field values. The system can happily accept multi-MB strings and return them in time-ordered queries. Querying on the *contents* of the chat messages would be slow, but querying for the chat message(s) in a range of time would be very performant. > -- > Remember to include the InfluxDB version number with all issue reports > --- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "InfluxDB" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to [email protected]. > To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. > Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/group/influxdb. > To view this discussion on the web visit > https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/influxdb/75728b36-9e42-45ad-bae6-7f095488b93f%40googlegroups.com > <https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/influxdb/75728b36-9e42-45ad-bae6-7f095488b93f%40googlegroups.com?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer> > . > > For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout. > -- Sean Beckett Director of Support and Professional Services InfluxDB -- Remember to include the InfluxDB version number with all issue reports --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "InfluxDB" group.
