I've tried renaming a field type with no success. Where field2 is erroneously stored as integer and I want it to be a float:
select time, tag1, tag2, field1, field2::float into myseries_new from myseries; myseries_new now has field2 as float. So far so good. drop series from myseries; select time, tag1, tag2, field1, field2 into myseries from myseries_new; This fails because in myseries, field2 still shows as type integer when doing show field keys.
