This is actually working, but you're just being fooled by the output to the 
screen. Instead of hitting ctrl-c, just hit enter.

What is happening is that the service script starts influx and returns to 
your prompt, then influxd prints its banner to your screen which obscures 
your prompt.

Just run the influx command line client, and you'll see it is running.
