Subject: afs on sparc20, HS121, Solaris 2.4
i have this ss20 machine with the ross Hypersparc 121 CPU,
running solaris 2.4.
I grabbed the beta2 afs34 release from ~umich/public, and I believe
I installed it correctly:
o installed bin and etc directories from the distribution in /usr/vice
o put the root.client stuff also in /usr/vice in the approrpriate directory
o copied the /usr/vice/etc/modload/libafs.nonfs.o file to /kernel/fs/afs
(this was a guess based on what i found on the login.itd machines)
o put in reasonable ThisCell, CellServDB and cacheinfo files
o put the afs.rc file in the place instructed in the comments at the
top of the file
it appears that the modload is working, but i don't know for sure (how
would i tell? there's nothing obvious in /var/adm/messages or in the
dmesg output, and I don't remember seeing anything on the console at
boot time). However, afsd dumps core with a "system call missing from
bind file" error message.
Any clues? Is this a known problem with the hypersparcs?
thanks, danno
