Has anyone come up with a way to use the DEC TL820 DLT tape silo with
the AFS backup system? (It's a 5TB DLT tape silo with 264 tapes and
three tape drives)
I've just started to look at it, but it looks like software to drive
the tape tower is Leggatto's network backup stuff. The lower level
software appears to be a SCSI device for the tape controller and 3
additional devices for the three tape drives. It doesn't look like
the tape controller device has any way to operate as if it were a tape
stacker type system.
I'd like to find a way to use the tape tower for doing AFS backups
(right now I'd be happy to be able to backup just the AFS volumes on
the same machine as the tape tower).
