Hi!

We'd like to buy a HP DAT Jukebox HP C1550A consisting of a HP DAT drive HP
C1533A and 6 tape slots. Since AFS 3.4 it is possible to use the AFS backup
together with jukeboxes by using the MOUNT and UNMOUNT commands. They call a
user definable shell script which should change the tape.

However, our local dealers tell that there is no way to change the tape in an
easy way. Instead, they need to develop a special driver software which tells
the drive to change the tapes. This will cost a few hundred US $.

Does anyone knows, if the software delivered together with the tape drive can
handle tape change requests (e.g. through a special /dev/xxx)? Is there
software delivered with the tape? Has anyone sucessfully used this jukebox to
make AFS backups?

Thanks,
     Till
