We have a DEC TZ867 magazine (loads 7 cartridges) tape drive on an AFS 3.4 system. Up to now, backups appear to work flawlessly, but operator intervention is required each time a cartridge hits the end, in order to advance to the next one. It would be interesting to know if any one out there has managed to get a fully automated backup on this kind of system, advancing the tapes as needed without human intervention; or if any of you has got the BUTC coordinator to execute a set of commands when it hits the tape end, instead of prompting the operator. Thanks in advance for any info...
