REFEREENCE: the original version of mirdir (being updated now and then) is 
            located under: /afs/caspur.it/project/mirdir


            (currently for the following platforms: rs_aix32,
                                                    rs_aix41,
                                                    alpha_osf32,
                                                    alpha_osf20,
                                                    sgi_53,
                                                    sun4m_54  )

                               

to check the current version on one of this architectures, simply use:

/afs/caspur.it/project/mirdir/bin/mirdir -V
