We have a sparc20 running Solaris 2.4 and AFS 3.4 I don't believe we
have seen your problem but we have another problem where if a user
accesses a file in /afs/... but is not authenticated on the translator
we get thousands (constantly scrolling) of warning messages that scroll
on the console and get logged to /var/adm/messages. The message is:

         WARNING: nfs_fhfid: corrupt filehandle

this also causes the the "lockd" process to use a good portion of the
CPU time and drastically slows down the translator system. The only way
we found to fix is reboot.

I placed a call to Sun to see if they had a fix for this. They have
never seen this type of warning messages nor did they have a patch for
it. The first question they asked was "what third party software are
you running?"

I also searched the AFS support database for this problem and found
know reference to it. You can do searches in there support database on
the web at:

        http://www.transarc.com/cgi-bin/ps/trcs-gwy.pl

This is obviously and AFS problem, my experience with Transarc support
has not been good and I dread contacting them to solve this problem. We
do not want to go to 3.4a because we understand this version has other
problems. Maybe someon else has solved these problems.
