I am looking to replace a cell primarily made up of older DEC equipment and wonder if someone has done a study of throughput, etc. on equipment from DEC, IBM and Sun to assist me in making a wise decision. The cell is not huge (a couple dozen gigabytes or so), but is *very* busy. Any comparative numbers and/or recommendations on platforms would be helpful. Also, if anyone has implemented this on a raid platform I would be interested in the results. I am more interested in raid 5 (or S) than simple mirroring, but am interested in collecting all experiences, good and bad, with this approach. --- Lou Anschuetz, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Network Manager, ECE, Carnegie Mellon University
