Hi, everybody!
I'm trying to build a AFS3.4 client on an OSF1/V3.2C machine. I followed
the exact steps from the Transarc's installation guide. The kenel was
built and rebooted fine. However, as soon as I tried to start the afsd,
after building the V-file correctly it failed at its final stage and exited
with the following error:
afsd: All AFS daemons started.
afsd: Forking trunc-cache daemon.
afsd: Mounting the AFS root on '/afs', flags: 0.
afsd: Can't mount AFS on /afs(19)
The AFS3.4 client I am using is the latest one that is supposed to work
with OSF1/V3.2C. And no, I have not forget making an /afs dir in the root dir.
I have checked all the installation steps several times but still have no
clue why the afsd refused to work. Has anybody had similar experience like
this? Any help or info on this problem is greatly appreciated.
