Has anyone tried using an SGI (5.3) machine as a database only machine. That would mean not loading libafs or afsd, but starting up bosserver, upserver, runntp, upclientetc, kaserver, ptserver, vlserver, buserver. I seem to recall starting an install one time on 5.3 and creating /usr/vice/etc but getting detoured before being able to finish the install of a client, and no one could log in or use the "r" commands until either the install was finished or /usr/vice/etc was removed. If you have successfully set up 5.3 as a database only machine, please let me know. thanks -dave
