ps doesn't see afsd on SunOS?

Hi folks,

Why is it that ps does not show any afsd processes on
sun4m sunos 4.1.3 whereas it does with Solaris and HP-UX?

There is an entry for starting /usr/vice/etc/afsd in /etc/rc.local.
