Hello Tom,

The following email was mailed to AFS site contacts on June 20th. I
believe this will answer your questions about the R5000 installation.

Subject: AFS for SGI R5000 machines
Dear AFS Contacts --

Transarc is pleased to announce the certification of AFS 3.4a for SGI
R5000 based machines running SGI 5.3. The existing sgi_53 binaries
have passed the certification process for SGI R5000 and are available
via network or through tape shipment. This certification does not
include support for dynamic loading using 'ml' - only kernel builds
using the existing R4000 kernel extensions will be supported. If you
have access to Transarc's AFS cell and are currently licensed for
sgi_53, you can access the binaries from:

   /afs/transarc.com/product/afs/3.4a.ports/sgi_53

To request a tape shipment, contact your AFS Sales Representative or
AFS Product Support. When ordering media, remember to include the
full system type (often, the operating system alone is not sufficient)
and tape media you require (8mm, 4mm, or ST150). Please allow 7-10
working days for tape shipment.

If there are any questions, please contact AFS Product Support.

Thanks,
Kelly
