I have seen this to, I am not an expert on kernels but I think ntpd is
trying to set these kernel variables and the names don't exist.
We have shut off afs ntpd (removed bos entry), and run the latest xntpd
network time daemons (see http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~ntp/). In order
for xntpd to work on Solaris 2.x you must set the following kernel
variable by placing the following entry in the /etc/system file:
set dosynctodr=0
Note that this is a similar name to "_dosynctodr" that ntp complains
about. Setting this kernel variable to 0 disables the hardware time of
day clock on Sun hardware from adjusting the software clock. I would
guess ntpd needs the same thing.
I never tried but you might want to place the above entry in
/etc/system and reboot and see if this clears up any of the "unknown"
messages. Let me know if you find out anything.
