I spent a considerable amount of time getting ADM to run a few years
back. I think I was most disappointed over the fact that Transarc does
not document changes to the AFS lib API's. I got burned when we moved
from AFS 3.3 to 3.3A.
Anyway, two alternatives to adm are sysctl and now ssh. You may want
to look at them before investing any of your own effort. Both are more
Kerberos 4 generic and thus usable in other situations.
BTW, I moved on to DCE/DFS a while back and have found depot to still be
a killing tool!
