UNIX dump of AFS vicep partition

I would like to replace a flaky disk that contains AFS vicep
partitions. Is it ok to:

1) stop AFS files services on the system
2) UNIX dump the vicep partition(s)
3) replace the drive and UNIX restore the vicep partitions
4) Start AFS file services
