Hi, we have a problem related to AFS-based WWW server. We made
a WWW server which is an AFS client and provides every AFS user's homepages
which are in each user's ~/public_html directory.

The WWW server performs OK in normal cases, however, the WWW server
suddenly hangs when a user's homepage is being backed up. If a homepage
which is being backed up is accessed, the WWW server tries to find out
"busy volume" and hangs until backup process releases the volume.

This sudden service outage is a big drawback of AFS-based WWW server.
Is there any good solution for this kind of problem? Isn't there any method
to backup a RW volume without affecting working process?

        Sincerely,
        Jay Kim
