Thanks, I did this and re-installed from scratch. However, now when I try
to set up the configuration of the first machine, the server configuration
wizard dies while trying to start the bosserver process, with the message
"AFS bosserver control service is not configured or is improperly
configured (0x00004632)."

Before I did the re-install with patch, I uninstalled AFS, removed all the
leftover files, and went through the NT registry removing all the AFS
entries, except for some under the names:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\XXX\Enum\Root\LEGACY_TRANSARCAFSDAEMON
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\XXX\Enum\Root\LEGACY_TRANSARCAFSSERVER

where XXX = CurrentControlSet, ControlSet001, ControlSet003
because regedit couldn't delete them. Apart from these, I think it was a
clean re-install with the patch.
Any further light shed would be appreciated.
