I have this problem, frequently, but since my servers are (ahem) currently
running AFS 3.3 (but hopefully not for long!) I assumed it was a problem
related to running an ancient version of AFS on an ancienter OS.
I'm not completely convinced it's a pts db corruption, per se, as much as
something tickling a bug. It only happens to pts groups with over ~50 members.
