Getting expiration date of AFS-password automatically

Hi,
using the "kas examine -name $USER" tool, I can get information about
the time my AFS-password expires. Is it possible to write a script
which warns me e.g. 1 week before it expires?
Unfortunately I wasn"t able to pipe anything to kas (like a
passwordfile used by my cron), so I could not store the information
automatically at time. Any suggestions?
