The code exists within AFS to encrypt the data between the server and client
in the session key of the user (or something like that -- I'd have to look
at it again). However, this is a compile-time option, not a run-time option.
So, to answer your question, yes, you can have AFS encrypt your data over
the nextwork, however the vanilla AFS from Transarc doesn't. You really
don't need a "box", since its within AFS.
You wouldnt need private leased lined to communicate to other "secure" cells.
By secure you assume that you have some way of authenticating, at which time
you fall back upon a previously solved problem within AFS.
